3D Print Instructions

Version 1.3 · updated October 2026 · Creality Print 7.x · Bambu Studio 2.0 · Orca Slicer 2.2

Bed size

Each organizer is designed to print in one piece. The listing you bought from gives the exact size. Most organizers need a bed of about 300 × 200 mm or larger.

Smaller bed? Your slicer can cut the organizer to fit. See Splitting the organizer below.

Recommended print settings

Setting Recommended value
Material PETG (preferred) · PLA+ (home use only)
Layer height 0.2 mm
Infill 15–20% · Gyroid or Grid
Walls / perimeters 3–4
Top / bottom layers 4–5
Orientation Flat on the bed, no rotation needed
Supports Not required
Bed temp (PETG) 70–85 °C
Nozzle temp (PETG) 230–245 °C

PETG is strongly recommended for garage, vehicle or job-site use. It handles heat, oil and impact better than PLA. PLA is fine for a home workshop where heat isn't a concern.

Two-colour files (3MF): follow the opening steps in your listing. Your slicer may ask about scaling (answer No) and about loading as one object with multiple parts (answer Yes).

Splitting the organizer (smaller beds)

If the organizer is bigger than your bed, split it into two pieces with your slicer's built-in Cut tool. Each slicer below can add connectors at the cut face, which print interlocking geometry into both halves so they lock together without glue or hardware.

Cut across the middle of the organizer's longest side.

Creality Print 7.x

  1. Load the STL with File → Import.
  2. Select the model on the build plate.
  3. Click the Cut icon in the top toolbar (the diagonal split icon; it turns green when active).
  4. Set Mode to Planar.
  5. Set the Cut position to about the midpoint of the organizer's length (check the length in the size panel and divide by two).
  6. Click Add connectors and set: Type Dowel · Style Prism · Shape Circle · Depth 3.00 mm · Size 2.50 mm (4–5 mm for a stronger joint on a large organizer) · Rotation 0°.
  7. Click Confirm connectors.
  8. Make sure Upper part → Keep and Lower part → Keep are both checked, then click Perform cut.
  9. Use Auto-Arrange if the halves overlap, then slice and print both.

Bambu Studio 2.0

  1. Load the STL with File → Import, or drag it onto the build plate.
  2. Select the model and click the Cut tool (knife icon) in the left toolbar.
  3. Choose Planar Cut, set the cut plane to the X axis, and drag it to about the midpoint.
  4. Under Connector, choose Dovetail. The default depth and width work well.
  5. Enable Keep both parts and click OK.
  6. Use Arrange if the halves overlap, then print both.

Orca Slicer 2.2

  1. Import the STL with File → Import → Import STL/OBJ/AMF/3MF.
  2. Select the model and click the Cut icon (knife) in the left toolbar.
  3. Choose Planar Cut, set the plane to the X axis, and place it at about the midpoint.
  4. Under Connector, choose Dovetail. Keep the defaults, or go slightly larger for a stiffer joint.
  5. Check Keep both parts and click Perform Cut.
  6. Use Auto Arrange if needed, then print both halves.

Assembling after a split

  • Lay both halves on a flat surface.
  • Dowel connectors (Creality Print): press the halves straight together until the pins seat.
  • Dovetail connectors (Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer): slide the halves together along the joint until they lock.
  • No glue or hardware is needed with connectors. If you cut without connectors, run a thin bead of CA glue along the joint and hold for 30–60 seconds. Don't use hot glue; it doesn't stick well to PETG.

Loading your sockets

  • Press each socket straight down into its slot until it seats fully.
  • Slots are sized for a snug fit, so some resistance is normal and intentional.
  • Some slots for larger sockets go through the floor of the organizer. That's intentional: the socket is held firmly from the sides. It isn't a print defect.
