Put one of our socket organizer inserts to work in a Klein MODbox 54500MBX organizer. This one-piece adapter sits on the box floor, catches the organizer's base, and holds it centered, so it stays put with the lid closed and latched.
Requires a minor modification: to use the adapter, remove the small front and rear ribs inside the 54500MBX (four in all, two at each end). They only line up Klein's own bins, and they come off in a few minutes with a flush cutter or utility knife. A printed instruction card is included in the box.
The adapter holds the organizer at the same height as the Milwaukee Packout deep organizers (48-22-8430 and 48-22-8435), so anything that fits those boxes fits here the same way: a deep insert set fills the space on its own, and a shorter insert takes the same spacer tray it would take in a Packout. The adapter locates on the box's own side bosses and end walls, and a center bar under the organizer keeps a loaded one from sagging on a hot day.
How to prep the box (one time): empty the box, then find the two small ribs at the front (on the raised housing) and the two on the rear end wall. Cut each one off flush with a flush cutter or a utility knife, cutting away from yourself, and smooth any burrs so the surface is flat. Then drop the adapter in and set your organizer on it. The instruction card in the box walks you through it step by step.

Good to know
- Adapter only — storage trays, tools and toolbox are not included.
- Visible layer lines are normal. They’re part of how every organizer is printed, and they don’t affect fit or function.
- Color may vary slightly from the photos, due to monitor settings and material batches.
- Some socket slots may extend to the bottom of the organizer, depending on the geometry of the sockets. That’s a normal part of the engineered design, not a defect.
This adapter is built for the Klein MODbox 54500MBX organizer only. It is not designed for other MODbox boxes or drawers, or for other toolbox systems.
