Mountaineer Maker Digital Product License Agreement
Version 1.0 · Effective October 3, 2026
This license applies to digital products provided by Mountaineer Maker, LLC, doing business as MountaineerMaker (“Mountaineer Maker,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including STL, 3MF, STEP, CAD, and related design files (“Digital Products”).
It applies whether you purchase a Digital Product directly from mountaineermaker.com or through an authorized marketplace where Mountaineer Maker offers the file.
When you purchase a Digital Product after being presented with notice of this license, you are purchasing a license to use the file under these terms. You are not purchasing ownership of the underlying design or intellectual property.
The version of this license identified in the product listing or otherwise presented in connection with your purchase governs that purchase.
The short version

- ✓ Use your prints at home, at work, in your garage, shop, vehicle, or elsewhere for your own personal purposes.

- ✗ Don't sell, share, upload, or redistribute the digital file.
- ✗ Don't sell or distribute a modified version of the digital file.
- ✗ Don't use the design as the basis for a product you sell without permission.
You may
You may:
- Download the Digital Product and keep reasonable backup copies for yourself.
- Print as many copies as you want for your own use.
- Use those prints for your own personal purposes at home, at work, in your garage, shop, vehicle, or other location. For example, a mechanic may print an organizer for use with the mechanic's own tools at work.
- Give a physical print you made as a personal, unpaid gift.
- Modify the Digital Product for your own use, including splitting it to fit your printer, changing dimensions, recoloring it, adding text, or making similar adjustments.
Any modified version you create remains subject to this license.
You may not
Unless Mountaineer Maker has given you separate written permission or a commercial license, you may not:
- Sell, rent, trade, or commercially distribute physical prints made from the Digital Product.
- Offer prints made from the Digital Product through a print service, print farm, retail store, market, online marketplace, website, social-media account, or other commercial channel.
- Sell, share, give away, sublicense, upload, publish, distribute, or otherwise provide the Digital Product to another person or organization.
- Upload the Digital Product to model-sharing, file-sharing, repository, forum, messaging, cloud-storage, or similar services.
- Sell, share, upload, or distribute a modified, converted, remixed, or derivative version of the Digital Product.
- Purchase one copy for use by multiple unrelated people, businesses, organizations, or customers.
- Remove the Mountaineer Maker name, logo, copyright notice, license information, or other identifying information from the Digital Product for the purpose of presenting the design as your own.
- Use the Digital Product or a modified version of it as the basis for a product, digital file, or design that you sell, license, or distribute.
- Use the Digital Product to provide commercial manufacturing, printing, fulfillment, or similar services for third parties.
Changing or modifying a Digital Product does not remove these restrictions.
Commercial use and selling prints
Using a physical print for your own personal purposes at your workplace or within your business is permitted under the standard license.
For example, you may print a socket organizer and use it with your own tools in a repair shop, construction business, workshop, or similar setting.
A separate commercial license or written permission is required if you want to:
- sell physical prints;
- manufacture prints for customers;
- include prints as part of a product you sell;
- use the design as part of a paid printing or fulfillment service; or
- otherwise commercially exploit the design itself.
Commercial licensing may be available. Contact Mountaineer Maker for permission before beginning commercial production.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, a commercial license to sell physical prints does not include permission to sell, share, sublicense, or distribute the underlying digital files.
Ownership and intellectual property
Mountaineer Maker retains all rights it owns in the Digital Products and their original design elements.
Your purchase grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to use the Digital Product as described here. No ownership rights are transferred to you.
Except for the rights specifically granted by this license, all other rights are reserved.
Fit and printing
Each organizer is designed for the tools, sockets, cases, or other products identified in its listing and is generally developed from measurements of the applicable physical products.
3D printing results can vary because of factors including:
- printer calibration;
- dimensional accuracy;
- filament or other materials;
- slicer settings;
- nozzle size;
- print orientation;
- environmental conditions; and
- changes you make to the file.
Review any printing instructions supplied with the product and verify fit before relying on a printed part.
Digital Products are provided as is.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mountaineer Maker is not responsible for failed prints or for damage to tools, cases, equipment, property, or other items resulting from printing, modifying, installing, or using a Digital Product.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mountaineer Maker will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from a Digital Product.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mountaineer Maker's total liability arising from a particular Digital Product will not exceed the amount you paid for that Digital Product.
Nothing in this license limits a right or remedy that applicable law does not permit to be waived or limited.
Brand names and compatibility
Mountaineer Maker Digital Products may be designed for use with products made by other companies.
Manufacturer names, trademarks, model numbers, part numbers, and product names are used only to identify compatibility.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Mountaineer Maker is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or associated with those manufacturers.
All third-party trademarks and product names remain the property of their respective owners.
Updates to files
Mountaineer Maker may occasionally revise or improve a Digital Product.
Unless the product listing specifically states otherwise, purchasing a Digital Product does not create an obligation for Mountaineer Maker to provide future revisions, additional file formats, compatibility updates, or ongoing support.
If an updated copy of a Digital Product is supplied under an existing purchase, it remains subject to the license applicable to that purchase unless different terms are specifically presented and accepted.
If the license is broken
If you materially violate these terms, your license to use the Digital Product may terminate.
If the license terminates, you must stop using the Digital Product and delete copies in your possession or control.
Mountaineer Maker may also use the remedies available under applicable law to address unauthorized copying, distribution, sale, or other infringement.
License versions and future changes
Mountaineer Maker may update this license from time to time.
Each version will have a version number and effective date.
The version of this license identified in the product listing or otherwise presented in connection with your purchase governs that purchase. Later changes to this license do not retroactively change the terms governing an earlier purchase unless you expressly agree to the revised terms.
The current version is maintained at:
https://mountaineermaker.com/pages/digital-license
Mountaineer Maker may retain earlier versions for historical and recordkeeping purposes.
Governing law
Except where applicable law requires otherwise, this license is governed by the laws of the State of West Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Severability
If any part of this license is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that part will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law, and the remaining terms will continue in effect.
Entire agreement
This license, together with any additional terms expressly stated in the applicable product listing or in a separate written commercial license, contains the agreement governing your use of the Digital Product.
If a product-specific license or separately agreed commercial license conflicts with this license, the more specific terms control for that Digital Product.
